PROJECTS
Anchor Fund
We supply travel grants to families in Cornwall who have a child being cared for in a mental health hospital outside of Cornwall.
These families travel to hospitals outside of Cornwall regularly, just to visit their child. Some of the families we have funded travel as far as Manchester, Kent, and Bristol to visit their loved one.
Sadly, families travel to hospitals outside of Cornwall regularly, to visit their child, which causes enormous strain both financially and emotionally. Some of the families we have funded travel as far as Manchester, Kent, and Essex to visit their loved one. We know that this is an extra burden on a family who are already facing adversity.
Whilst we now have the Sowenna unit open in Cornwall, we continue to fund these families and parents to help with their travel, until all Cornish children are brought home to be cared for in Cornwall.
The Invictus Trustees are very proud that the Anchor Fund has now funded over £30,000 to over 60 families in Cornwall.
We relaunched the Anchor Fund recently to include young people up until aged 25 who are being cared for in mental health facilities outside of Cornwall. At the Invictus Trust, we strongly believe that mental health care for young people should include all of adolescence, from aged 13-25.
