Today I was lucky enough to have a 30 minute one-to-one with Norman Lamb who is a Health Minister responsible for Mental Health as well as being a thoroughly good man!
He has promised to write a letter of support to Invictus about the work we are doing to remove the 18 year old barrier as the unit we are proposing supports 13-25 year olds. Whilst he is supportive of short stays in units and then integrated care via outpatient and community buy top valium online work, he also understands how unacceptable care out of county is. So the concept of flexible beds in county plus a well developed system of education, outreach and support is a balanced approach he supports.
He was very interested in the Invictus cards and films and has taken a sample of each.
When he visits Cornwall in the near future I have invited him to a meeting with the Foundation Trust, so who knows we may develop this further!
